Christmas and Injury: They Go Hand in Hand
For Christmas we took a trip up to Eden to spend the holiday with my family. It's pretty traditional that we go up close to or right after Christmas every year to do some skiing and just hang out. It's a nice vacation and is always super fun. Nate was there last year as my fiance, and this year as my husband (which is way more fun). This holiday was pretty painful for the both of us though. Nate and I both had the flu the month of December, which was awful. And then on vacation Nate hurt his knee skiing and then dislocated his shoulder tubing. Marriage to that man means injury. Last year around December he dislocated his shoulder as well. Winter sports are bad for his health. Then just when we thought all was well I got tonsillitis. Which was spectacular let me tell you. Just as I was on the mend I had to go in and get my wisdom teeth removed and recovery for that has been a nightmare. I'm still in pain, and still unable to eat anything that isn't so soft you'd feed it to a baby. Despite all of our hardships during the month we still had a wonderful holiday with friends and family. And I for one am grateful for the reason we celebrate, which is not presents (though sometimes I think it is). Without the Savior and the gospel we have because of him I would be in a very different place. And I definitely wouldn't be able to roll over in pain and beg my husband for a blessing. I truly am blessed. And so are all of you!
